Meet our Stylists

  • Meaghyn

    Stylist (She/All)

Meaghyn firmly believes there’s no style, color or texture too difficult; no idea too big and no detail too small.

Meaghyn started her career in Chicago. Did multiple runs of Chicago Fashion Week as not only a hair stylist but also a makeup artist before moving back home to the Lou.

She believes that hair is about self expression and self love and strives hard to deliver results that you’re excited to show off every time. At her core, Meaghyn believes in diversity and inclusion; ensuring that every hair color and texture is handled with love and care.

As a person with bilateral hearing loss, Meaghyn values strong communication. You can look forward to a thorough consultation every single time to ensure that we proceed with your service without any uncertainties.

Outside of the salon (and sometimes in) Meaghyn can be seen dancing and singing happily and off-tune. She’s a passionate animal lover, art and architecture fanatic and pickleball playing pro. Always searching for more whimsy in life and a good new book recommendation.

  • Brian

    Stylist

For over a decade, Brian has been providing those who have sat in his chair the ability, comfort, and respect to come together in what it means to craft a personal style. With a particular love for soft dimensional colors and effortless air dry styling; but not to be placed in one lane, barbershop structured cuts, big blowouts, and vivids… the goal is always: Judgment free, come as you are, and leave feeling seen for it.

Brian has a love for the nerdier things in life; from video gaming, sci-fi/fantasy movies and shows (and those that rule those realms; think Buffy, Xena, Sailor Moon, Seven of Nine, so many more), to D&D. While not doing hair he is often out thrifting for clothes and art, hanging out with his cats, sipping iced americanos, painting digitally or sometimes traditionally. Creating art is what fulfills the most.

  • Fitz

    Fitz

    Stylist, Barber (they, she)

Fitz is a licensed cosmetologist and barber with over a decade of experience behind the chair, specializing in all hair types and textures. Hair has always been a creative outlet for them, and they love helping clients express themselves through thoughtful cuts and styles.

Outside the salon, Fitz proudly embraces their nerdy side. You’ll likely find them playing video games, watching anime, or getting lost in a good book.

You can catch Fitz at Xanadu on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

  • Kristina Cheeseman

    Owner, Stylist + Colorist (she/they)

Award-winning hairstylist. International trouble maker with a color brush.

For me, hair has always been about more than looking good - t’s about freedom, identity, and joy. I believe the chair is a place where we can heal our inner child, experiment without fear, and show the world exactly who we are.

With 17+ years behind the chair and on stages around the world, I’ve built a reputation for bold, creative color work and a deep respect for self-expression in all its forms. But don’t box me in - I specialize in all hair types and bring the same energy to precision cuts, razor cutting, and making sure we maintain the health and integrity of your hair.

All new color clients require an in person consultation before booking any color service.

  • MacKenzie

Stylist, Intuitive DIY Hair + Handstyles (she/they)

Outside the salon, they can often be found in their magical garden, where MacKenzie offers whimsical outdoor haircuts surrounded by nature. At Xanadu, she brings that same fairy-like wonder part-time, focusing mainly on transformative color services.

MacKenzie specializes in DIY Alternative hair, intuitive haircuts, and hand-styled finishes. Don’t expect a blowout, her craft is all about enhancing natural features with low-maintenance looks that feel effortless day after day.

With a commitment to low-tox products and an approach that prioritizes authenticity and sustainability, they help clients express themselves in ways that are both bold and beautifully natural.
